Logan's First Day of School

Tuesday was Logan's first day of pre-school. He was pretty excited, we've been talking about it for months. He did so well, he wasn't tentative about the drop off or anything. He had lots of fun, but when he got into the car and I asked him what fun things he did at school today, the first thing he said was, "I don't like the songs at school. They're weird!" It was funny. I told him he would learn them and then they won't be weird. He had all positive things to say after that. I'm so excited for him!

Easter

I know I'm late getting these pictures up, but here they are!
Easter morning, Logan was up and excited to see what the Easter Bunny brought. Daddy was less enthusiastic about getting out of bed.

Easter egg hunt.

Silly Kiddos! I tried to get some good pictures of the kids in their nice Easter clothes. This is the best one I was able to get. The sillies wouldn't cooperate!

Easter Sunday Afternoon.

Silly Kids

This is Lyla all dressed up and nowhere to go. She loves to go outside and will bring me her shoes and jacket to have me put them on her. This time she found one of Logan's hats as well. What a cutie. She wasn't feeling well, being very fussy, but as soon as she gets all ready to out, she feels much better! She walked around like this for most of the day.

Any parent knows that if one child has something, then the other has to have one too. We bought Logan a doll when I was pregnant with Lyla and he is very protective of it. Lyla, naturally, loves dolls and so we had to find her one, too.

My pretty little dancer. Now, if only cinder-Lyla could find her other shoe, we could go dancing!

Ring around the rosies...in snow boots? oh well!

Logan sees me doing pilates and yoga and likes to join in. He's actually pretty good at some of the moves!

Pretty in pink. It is so hard to get Lyla to be still long enough to take a picture of her. Logan has some Dr. glasses he got for Christmas and Lyla loves to wear them. I have a ton of pictures of the side of Lyla, the back of Lyla, too close to recognize Lyla, Lyla running away. all because she looks so darn cute in the funny glasses and I'm trying to get a picture of her in them!

Both Logan and Lyla love to read. On this particular day, the decided to sit on the TP and read together. Logan is being VERY patient and good natured as Lyla keeps sticking books in his face to "show" them to him. Last night as we were kneeling for family prayers, Logan was saying the prayer and Lyla started hitting him on the head (she thought it was hilarious) but Logan sat calmly and finished his prayer, not paying any attention to the hitting. It was so sweet. I guess it makes up for all the times he does typical "big brother" things to her.

Snow

This is Logan and Lyla's first time playing in the snow this year. And it is Lyla's first real time out in the snow. She enjoyed it, but her snow clothes keep her from being able to move about very well. The snow is several inches deep, but it has melted and been refrozen so it is pretty solid. The kids are so light that they just stay right on top of the snow.
Logan climbed up the mountain of snow left by the snow plow.
Lyla's hands don't quite come to the ends of her coat sleeves, but she managed to eat the snow any way. she put her sleep don't into a hole of loosened snow and then ate the snow that was on the end of her sleeve when she pulled it out.
Trying to figure out these boots.

Lyla wanted to be like Logan and climb the mountain, too. They had lots of fun and didn't want to go in for lunch and naptime.

Logan

Logan is very shy at times, and very rambunctious at others. He is soft-hearted and cuddly and such a goof!

The other day when it was snowing, Lyla ran off after I got her out of the bath. She was amazed by the falling snow outside. Logan loves to copy (anyone and anything) and so he decided to join his sister at the window to watch the snow. They were so cute standing there together with their little bare bums I just had to take a picture. I can't imagine what someone would think seeing the picture from the other side of the door! This one's going in the wedding video!!

When ever I get the camera out to take a picture of Lyla, Logan has to make sure he gets a picture too. He will ask me to take a picture of whatever toy he is currently playing with. He's so cute, I just can't NOT take a picture!

Take a picture of me mom!

Logan loves Lyla and loves to play with her, but is often a little bit rough. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of gentle. Most of the time, just when he passes the "ok" level of roughness, just as I'm about to pull them apart, that is when Lyla is laughing and having the most fun.

Logan loves to watch Veggie Tales at his Aunt Sharon's house. This particular night, both Aunt Sharon and Daddy fell alseep while Logan was watching the video.

Lyla

Sillly girl!

Rocking in the chair again. With a great big smile! I love her dimples. When people meet her, the most popular choice of words is "What a doll!"

Radiant in Red. Go UTES!!

Lyla is walking all over, she couldn't wait to walk so she could keep up with her brother and cousins.

Our little one is such a climber. She loves to climb up on Logan's bed and play, and she is so proud of herself!
Reading books with Daddy. Both the kids love Daddy so much. All they have to do is hear the door open and they scream "Daddy!" and run to him. I've never seen Lyla literally JUMP to her feet before until she heard Daddy come home last night!

Climbing on the bed again!

Those who have tried to dress Lyla know just how fast she can get away from you. Like most little kids, she prefers to be undressed and will escape as fast as she can, giggling and running away as fast as she can.

Halloween

Ok, so we're a little behind in getting these pics up! We had a fun party with family for Haloween, Even Sean's Dad dressed up! :O) This pic is to show family resemblance!

Ashley is a dolly, Sean is a "cereal" killer, Logan is Jack (Jack skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas), and Lyla, our little dragon, is trying to pull her hood off.

Jaleigh, Logan, and Elena. In a candy coma.

Halloween Pumpkin Carving

Well we have now carved our first real family Jack-O-Lantern. Logan and Ashley helped by doing the design and I acted as the contractor and did as I was told by the designers. I think that it turned pretty good but I am a little byas.
Logan was pretty excited to do the pumpkin carving but not to touch the "guts" of the pumpkin.
Yeah for All Hallows Eve

What we've been up to

Logan turned 3 on September 30th. We had a party fo rhim with family the following Sunday. Logan was so excited for his presents and couldn't believe they were all for him. He was very polite and gave a very enthusiastic "Thank You!!" to everyone.

Logan is putting on his brand new pajamas

Daddy shared the Mike and Ike with Logan. Logan tried to fit as many as he could in his mouth before the box was taken away again!

Lyla has 7 teeth and each one is a sweet tooth. She loved the peach shakes we made with fresh peaches from great grandma's tree. She was very upset when it was all gone.

Our pretty girl learning to walk. She sees all the other kids running around and can't wait to join them. It makes her so happy to be up and "walking" around with the big kids.

Lyla loves to play patty cake. Also notice the baggie of gummi bears at her feet. She was trying to eat the gummi bears through the plastic bag and we had to play patty cake to distract her long enough to get the gummis away.

Visit From Friends

Our Friends Brian, Melanie, and Ben came to Utah to visit and attend conference. We had lots of fun catching up. We miss them already and can't wait to see them again!
We went to Cabella's to see the guns and other "manly stuff." The boys were good and didn't purchase anything. Logan and Lyla loved the animals and all the fish in the big tanks. The big Polar Bear scared Logan, though.
In the car for the long drive down south.
A sign of good friendship...we took them to the BYU campus so they could reminisce and get some stuff from the bookstore. This is the classroom where their love story began! Awww, how sweet!
